The venue is Ringwood East Community Hall, Knaith Rd. Reserve.

‘Slow’ Session

In April 2019 we had a first time “Slow Session” where we played well known, and not so well known tunes at a slower tempo. This gives players new to group playing a better chance of keeping up, and it gives more experienced players the opportunity to experiment with an instrument that they don't normally use or to play melodies rather than chords.
There was an eight page booklet on the night. The electronic version is available here.

Fireside Fiddlers

Fireside Fiddlers are a group devoted to by-ear playing of collected traditional Australian tunes. They meet on Monday evenings at 8pm in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs.

Session Survey

In August 2017 a survey of members was conducted in order to assess how well the Tuesday sessions were meeting the needs of participants. View the results.

The Club has a band called The Billabong Band which may be booked for dances and engagements. Busking, community functions and other performing opportunities often arise for VFMC members to participate in.
