Bruce Watson's 'Immortal' video is a tribute to the greats of the Australian folk scene over the last several decades who are no longer with us. It uses photos, video and audio recordings to capture the essence of each of the individuals included. It celebrates many extraordinarily talented people who have left a lasting legacy through their music, inspiration, knowledge and passion. Performers, songwriters, collectors and inspirers have all played a key role in defining and shaping Australia’s changing cultural identity.
A Victorian-focused version of the Immortal video was screened at the club in September 2025. This version of the video includes sections on more people with VFMC connections than in the earlier version, including Joy Durst, Bert Gibson, Clem Parkinson, Jim Buchanan & Joan Martin. This event was recorded, and includes Bruce's introduction plus a panel discussion and concert following the screening, with Margret RoadKnight, David Lumsden, Steve Bullock, and Ray & Joan Mundy, with Bruce Watson as MC.
